In February 2009, kindly lent me one of their Panasonic (then) new LUMIX DMC-G1 micro four thirds digital SLR for a couple of weeks to play with and review. Because I use a Mac and a shoot in RAW mode, it was not possible to publish pictures taken with the G1 until Apple released Aperture 3 in February 2010. But despite the time elapsed, the DMC-G1 is still on sale and is worth a review.
To help you make your own mind, I've also included more than 40 such shots taken with the G1.
My review modelPanasonic loaned me a camera LUMIX DMC-G1, complete with a target 14-45mm (equivalent to 28-90mm in 35mm terms). The camera has an electronic viewfinder and a display line on the back, leaving his body so that you can tilt and rotate. He entered the beautiful red color above.
Start with first impressions. Anyone who saw the camera - friends, family, and my colleagues - found the camera in general and the particular tone of red in particular to be very catchy and very much to their liking. There is something about the look of the G1, which suggests that quality. The publicity photos really do not do it justice. If you are even slightly considering buying this camera, pop up your camera shop local and see in person if you can.
